Alex Eaton MLA has called on Ards and North Down Council to get ownership of the Army’s Kinnegar Army site and build a positive future for Holywood.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“For many years politicians claim they want the best for the people of Holywood and yet there is a collective failure to plan for the future and provide the amenities Holywood has needs for decades. A solution is for the Council to ensure that they get ownership of the Army Kinnegar army facility which is due to close, which will give the space and facilities for Council to plan for the future an provide the needs for the residents of Holywood. Kinnegar could be a huge lift for Holywood it would provide the space to build a swimming pool the residents so long for, it would provide the space to enhance the promenade and attract much needed tourism to the area and it would provide the space for a family entertainment centre and even a big wheel. Time for the Council to think outside the box, time to ensure that Holywood has a vision and deliver for the future of the Holywood residents.”
