Alex Easton MLA has today called on the Council to bring a report to Council to look at modernising the pitch and put at Ballyholme.

Speaking toady Alex Easton MLA said:

“The Pitch and Put situated in Ballyholme has been one of the jewels in the crown of North Down for decades. I remember playing on it with my grandparents as a child and had many fond memories and fun doing so. However little has changed over the years and I feel that it could be utilised more and attract more people and tourists to use if it was to receive a makeover. I believe the Pitch and put is an unpolished Diamond and with a bit of creative thinking by the Council we could attract many more people to use the facility.”

“I believe that by adding at minimal cost to the council a few tiny bunkers to make it more exciting , make the putting area into Crazy Golf, more planting, seating and lighting with different colours at night, to show it off and make it more interesting and appealing! This can be done at minimal cost yet totally transform it and make it more eye-catching. I am today calling on the Council to use their imagination and make small changes to attract more tourists to the area.”
