Alex Easton MLA has today called for a community centre for Millilse.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“The residents for some time have been calling for a community centre, and there has been a collective failure on the part of the previous Council to heed the calls and needs of the residents of Millisle. Millisle is the last large village on the peninsula, not to have its own community hall and there needs to be serious consideration for the needs of the local community when planning for the future.”

“There is no doubt a community centre can bring so much to a community such as local groups being able to use the facility, our young people who can use the facility for sport and to help give them someplace to go during the evenings. I believe a community hall can help to build community spirit and builds bonds. I am today calling for our new Council to look seriously at a community hall, with plans for the future costs and seriously take this forward for the future of the people of Millisle.”
