Alex Easton MLA and Councillor Wesley Irvine today took time out to visit Bangor Football Club to see the new pitch and the facilities on offer at Bangor Football club.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“ This was a great opportunity for Councillor Irvine and myself to see the new facility’s and it was great to meet up with Trevor Best the Bangor Football Chairman and Maurice Beatie director, we were given a tour round the ground and were very much impressed with the state of the art 3G football pitch. Having viewed the pitch it has to be said that there is no better football pitch currently in use in North Down or across Northern Ireland, and community and local football clubs are queuing up to use this state of the art pitch. It was also very impressive to see the huge amount of sponsors that are advertising around the fencing and in particular Bangor Fuels for being the main ground and team sponsors. I was also impressed to hear of the Bangor youth academy that trains from 6pm to 8pm every Wednesday which is seeing the development of our youth football development in North Down thanks to Paul Williams. I would urge the local community and local clubs to come down to Bangor football Club to see the pitch and make use of the best playing surface you can possible get and help to build up a higher standard of youth development for the future of football across North Down. This is a very impressive and exciting set up, and I am glad to see Bangor Football club doing so well!”
