Alex Easton MLA and Alderman Wesley Irvine visited SERC to hear from Ken Webb the concerns for the future of the college.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I was delighted to have had the opportunity to visit the local SERC College in Bangor with my college Wesley Irvine and to hear first hand the concerns for the future due to the financial crises. Having been shown around the Bangor College and met with catering college students and teachers we watched a video and presentation on the pressures the |Colleges are facing due to the Energy crisis and cost of living crisis. It is important to have listened to these concerns so that we can make representations to the Economy Minister to ensure that our colleges are provide with the extra resources that are needed to continue their important roles in further education, apprentices and preparing young people in particular for their careers. I would thank Ken Webb and indeed the staff and students at the Bangor campus for making us feel so welcome and promise to be there and offer any assistance they feel they need for this difficult period ahead.”
