Alex Easton MLA has acted with dismay at the amount of potholes and street lights that are being reported.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“I am absolutely astonished at the amount of pot holes and street light faults being reported across North Down every year. To me this demonstrates a real lack of investment to our infrastructure by TNI and the Infrastructure Department.”
“For years now it has been clear that we receive the least amount of funding every year, compared to other Council areas, and it is clear from the amount of streets now on the Reserve resurfacing list, the amount of pot holes and the amount of street lights not working, that there is now a crisis in North Down. It is now a matter of urgency for all elected representatives to help me and start lobbying the Infrastructure Minister to change course and stop viewing and treating North Down as the poor relation. I will be submitting an adjournment debate to the NI Assembly for debate as we need to hold the Infrastructure Minister and TNI to account for this debacle.”
