Alex Easton MLA has condemned the murder of a 31 year man in the Ballyholme area.
Alex Easton MLA has today called on the Road Service and the SEELB to look at creating lay byes for parents to park safely when leaving their children off at Ballymagee Primary School on the Albany Road.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“Every morning when driving down the Albany Road I see parents struggling to get their children safely into Ballymagee Primary School due to the volume of traffic and the width of the Albany Road.”
“I believe there is a Health and Safety risk and feel that the Road Service in conjunction with the SEELB need to look at some agreement that would allow some sort of laybys to be built into the school were the current fencing is located. This would allow the traffic to flow much more freely, and this in turn would ensure the safety of the parents and children attending Ballymagee Primary School and also stop residents driveways from being blocked in the mornings and afternoons.”
“This I believe is vitally important that this issue is addressed before there is an accident or worse in the future. I intend to write to both the SEELB and Road Service on the issue to see what can be facilitated.”
