“During Storm Ophelia on Monday 16th Oct, a yacht (about 30-40ft sailing boat) which was moored along the coast of Donaghadee on the Warren Road unfortunately dragged her moorings, and became snagged on rocks directly behind residents homes on the Warren Road, Donaghadee. On that day 3 coastguards attended the scene.
Since that time no-one has been to see or move the yacht despite perfect conditions and sadly as a result the Yacht which is called the Tonic has had a battering on the rocks, especially when the tide is at a certain height...

Alex Easton MLA has today visited the bus shelter at Bloomfield Rd South, Bangor, to see the vandalism caused to the bus shelter.

“I am disappointed to hear that this bus shelter has been vandalized especially when I alongside the local community had worked so hard to obtain it for the residents living in the area. Alex Easton MLA has asked the Council to look at the amount of green disposable food waste bags that they are supplying residents.

”It is clear that the amounts of Green food waste bags that are being supplied to residents are just not enough for some families. I am inundated with residents who need to use more than one bag a week due to large families, which is causing problems with smells and maggots. It is highly important that we recycle food waste, and the Council are doing the correct thing by doing this, however the Council need to review their policy on the amount of  Green food waste bags they supply and increase the number to those that need more than one a week due to large families...
