ALEX EASTON MLA CONDEMNS THOSE RESONSIBLE FOR FIRE IN BLOOMFIELD ESTATE AS RECKLESS.

Alex Easton MLA has condemned those responsible for setting fire to Virgin portaloos beside an electricity substation in Bloomfield Estate. Condemns

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This is a reckless thing for anyone to do, not only was it bad enough that portaloos have been set on fire and property damaged belonging to Virgin, the fact it was beside an electricity substation could have led to major power cuts rights across Bangor, it could have also led to a loss of life. There have been a series of incident were someone has stated fires in and around the Bloomfield area, and it only takes one of those fires to burn down a property and lead to someone losing their life. I would condemn the reckless idiots involved, and ask them to stop before someone gets hurt or worse...

Alex Easton MLA has asked the Council to look at the amount of green disposable food waste bags that they are supplying residents.

Speaking to day Alex Easton MLA said:

”It is clear that the amounts of Green food waste bags that are being supplied to residents are just not enough for some families. It is highly important that we recycle food waste, and the Council are doing the correct thing by doing this, however the Council need to review their policy on the amount of  Green food waste bags they supply and increase the number to those that need more than one a week due to large families...

ALEX EASTON MLA CALLS ON THE SE TRUST TO SUPPORT SHARED LIVES.

I met recently with Shared Lives Plus the UK charity for the adult placement model of care.  Adult placement schemes are unique in that adults needing care can choose to receive this support in an approved Shared Lives family home in the community.  Schemes have been running successfully in Northern Ireland for over 20 years with the other 4 Health & Social Care Trusts.  I am concerned that the SE Trust has no adult placement scheme for adults needing care and their families within the Trust area.  This is at a time when all recent health reviews have emphasised the need for transformation and reform and a move to more choice and community based care pathways...
