ALEX EASTON MLA CONDEMNS ATTACK ON PARAMEDICS IN BANGOR.

Alex Easton MLA has today condemned an attack on paramedics while trying to treat a patient.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I have to really question what our society is coming to when paramedics are attacked for tying to help someone, and to also be verbal abused by a crowd. This is a sad ordeal that these paramedics had to endure when all they were doing was trying to help someone, they should not have to endure such an ordeal and those responsible should be ashamed of their actions. I would thank the PNI for their help in dealing with this situation and also praise the bravery of the two paramedics for doing their job under difficult circumstances.”

Alex Easton MLA has reacted with delight at the whole of Beechfield Drive in Donaghadee is finally resurfaced after a ten year campaign.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This is fantastic news for the residents of Bechfield Drive, Donaghadee who have had to endure a substandard road for years with patches and pot holes which have made the area look very poor. The residents of Beechfield have lobbied and done a campaign of letter writing over the years to try and have the road resurfaced. I am delighted that my constant lobbying with my colleague Alderman Bill Keary for Beechfield Drive to be resurfaced for the residents has finally paid off...

ALEX EASTON MLA CALLS FOR A DOG PARK FOR BANGOR.

Alex Easton MLA has today called for a dog walking park for Bangor.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I believe it is time to give some thought by the Council for the creation of a dog walking park for Bangor. There are no exclusive areas for dog walkers that dog owners can take their dogs, were they can walk their dogs in peace and interact with other dogs. I believe other councils do have this type of facilities and they are very successful. I believe that Ards and North Down Council need to also look at providing a facility exclusively for dog owners and their dogs.”

ALEX EASTON MLA CALLS ON THE HOUSING EXECUTIVE TO MAINTAIN THEIR STEPS IN WHITEHILL ESTATE.

Alex Easton MLA has today called on the Housing Executive to maintain their steps after coming across badly maintained steps in Whitehill.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“Having been on a walk about in Whitehill, along with my colleague Councillor Wesley Irvine, we came across steps at Whitehill Drive which are badly maintained with a tree growing out of the middle of the steps. Not only is this a tripping hazard it could have seen a local resident in the area fall and get injured.”

“I am today questioning how often these steps are checked by the Housing Executive in Whitehill to ensure their safety for residents, and why grass and trees are allowed to grow across some of the step surface way...

ALEX EASTON MLA ANGERED BY GRAFFITI AT CLANMORRIS.

Alex Easton MLA has expressed anger and disgust as graffiti is sprayed on a wall at Clanmorris Avenue, Whitehill. Bangor.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am horrified to see a wall being vandalised with graffiti being sprayed on the gabble wall of a house yet again at Clanmorris Avenue, Bangor. What is particularly annoying is that those responsible have done this yet again and the residents living in the area are fed up to the back teeth. What sort of example are these idiots setting our children. This will have to be cleaned up and the rate payers will have to foot the bill which is totally unfair.”

” I would call on anyone with any information to come forward to the PSNI so those involved with spraying this graffiti can be brought before the courts and in my opinion be ...

Alex Easton MLA has today described the cancellation of the firework display by the council as incompetence and an embarrassment.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said

“This can be only described a s a fiasco that could have been prevented, obviously someone should have had the sense to check the tides in advance so that plans could be in place to cover that eventuality, goodness knows the Council have been doing it for long enough to know! To top this off we then have the delay of over an hour before the Council decided to let the crowds know the event was cancelled...

ALEX EASTON MLA EXPRESSSES CONCERN AT SEWAGE DISCHARGE AT PICKIE.

Alex Easton MLA has today expressed concern that there appears to have been a sewage leak along the coast line at Pickie.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This issue has been brought to my attention by a local resident while out walking. I am concerned that sewage of any type was able to be deposited through a pipe at this site, this has come as a shock to local residents. Secondly we have spent millions of pounds on upgrading our sewage treatment system in North Down yet this has happened. I think  what is disturbing is that it happened along the coast at Pickie which is a major tourism centre and it would not be particularly nice for residents or tourists to see this come from a pipe at this location...
