Alex Easton MLA has today called on transport NI and the Housing Executive to take action to resolve persistent flooding at Kilclief Gardens after heavy rain.

 

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I received numerous calls for help on Saturday evening as the heavy rains caused serious flood on the footpaths outside people’s homes at Kilclief Gardens, Bangor. The whole path way was flooded, making it impossible for residents to walk along and there was a very real danger that the water was going to come up into residents homes. I had to call both the Housing Executive and Transport NI who has to provide emergency sandbags to prevent further flooding and damage to properties...

ALEX EASTON MLA CONDEMNS RACIST GRAFFITI AT STRICKLAND GLEN.

Alex Easton MLA has today condemned racist Graffiti sprayed on Water work facilities at Strickland’s Glen.

 

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

 

I am completely horrified and offended to see this sprayed on the door of a NI Waterworks facility at Strickland Glen. These sorts of comments are totally wrong and immoral and not wanted in out society and I totally condemn them. I have reported this to Ards and North Down Council and urge them to remove this as soon as possible. I would also call on any with information on the person responsible to report this to the PSNI as a hate crime.”

ALEX EASTON MLA DELIGHTED AS COUNCIL VOTES TO ADOPT LANEWAY AT CROMMELIN PARK DONAGHADEE.

Alex Easton MLA has reacted with delight at the news the Council has voted to support the adoption of the road leading from Moat Street Donaghadee into Crommelin Park.

This is fantastic news, to know that the Council have officially agreed to take over the road entrance from Moat Street Donaghadee into Crommelin Park. I am delighted that after my meeting with Council officers and the owner of the land that this has been taken forward. I will now chase up a timescale for the road entrance to be tarmacked as it is in such a bad sate of repairs! I would thank the Council for this decision and also the Council officers and land owner for agreeing to this process!”

This collapse poses a very serious issue that needs to be looked into and answered, how did this wall collapse what was the cause, is there problems of safety with other walls in the area this is something we need to find out. I plan to write to the Council Environmental Health to ask them to go out and look at the collapse and see if any other walls in the area may be need attention...

ALEX EASTON MLA DELIGHTED BY THE US INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMISSIONS C-SERIES RULING.

Alex Easton MLA has welcomed the ruling by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) which rejected a complaint brought by Boeing against Bombardier’s C-Series aircraft. The ruling overturns a decision to impose tariffs on imports of the jet whose wings are manufactured in Belfast.

What sort of reckless individual would risk starting a fire on Thursday evening knowing it had the potential to destroy a community hospital which treats thousands of patients at the Outpatients Department and Bangor minor injury unit every year!
