Alex Easton MLA this evening visited the Craigantlet Orange Hall to view the three Road Service options to improve road safety at the Craigantlet crossroads.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“It was great to be able to finally see the three options that the Road Service are considering for the safety of road users and residents for the Craigantlet area. Having studied carefully the three proposals and talking to residents I would say that both option A & B are unacceptable in their current format, and are really just a rehash of the original proposals of creating a duel carriage way between the crossroads and Craigantlet cottages with two proposed roundabouts which is unacceptable!”

“Option C or 3  while I do have some concerns as to the size of the proposed roundabout, it does however offer a much better option and more acceptable proposal with no duel carriage way and only the one roundabout. If this is the option that the residents want to support I will also do so but it is up to the community to show their support for this option, this option however would be considerably more costly and would take up to 2 to 4 years to see it happen. What is important is that we improve residents and car user’s safety, while protecting the countryside for everyone!”
