Alex Easton MLA has today thanked the people of North Down for his election result.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am still trying to get my head around the election result, but all I really want to say is that I owe everything to the people of North Down who voted for me in huge numbers. I can’t thank them enough, and from the bottom of my heart it means the world to me, and I owe them all a deep debt of gratitude!

I also want to thank my friends and family who walked the streets for helping me get elected, they were my rock, their friendship and loyalty to me is a rich blessing, I would also thank my wife she is my tower of strength in whom I can’t survive without!”

“I intend to get straight back to work for the people of North Down and want to see the NI Assembly start to deliver for the people of Northern Ireland and the people of North Down. I want to see an end to the constant bickering and for the people to have confidence that we can deliver for them. I would finally congratulate my colleague on his election and also congratulate the other candidates who have also been elected, and would ask that we all work constructively together to deliver for North Down. In conclusion this has to be a wake up call to Unionism and there is now an urgent need for Unionism to stop fighting with itself and for one Unionist Party”
