Alex Easton MLA has today expressed disappointment with the Department of Infrastructure for failing to take responsibility for The Point in Groomsport.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am very disappointed by the response to my NI Assembly Question that I have submitted asking for the Minister to get TNI to adopt the road at The Point Groomsport. As everyone knows this road while not adopted at present is widely used by the public to assess the coastal path from Groomsport to Bangor. I believe the road way is unsuitable and is in a poor state.I feel it is totally unreasonable and unacceptable for the Ministers Department to expect the residents to have to try and find the money to make this into a proper road before TNI will adopt it. This would cost thousands of pounds which is just not feasible. I would urge the Department and TNI to look again at adopting The Point as to fail to do so would be deeply unfair.”
