Alex Easton MLA has today called on Transport NI to maintain their steps better after coming across badly maintained steps on Ballyree Drive, Bloomfield Estate.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“Having been on a walk about in Bloomfield, along with my colleague Councillor Wesley Irvine, we came across steps at Ballyree Drive which have been extremely badly repaired and are a complete eye sore and in my opinion dangerous after being repaired with tarmac. Not only is this a tripping hazard it could have seen a local resident in the area fall and get injured.”

“I am today questioning how often these steps are checked by Transport NI to ensure their safety for residents, and why these steps were allowed to be repaired in this fashion. It is important that there are scheduled inspections and that this set of steps is fixed as soon as possible to a safe standard.”
