Alex Easton MLA has today called on the CE of the SE Trust to resign if he won’t listen to the needs of the community after the announcement of the Bangor GP Ward Consultation on full closure.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I can’t say how upset and angry I am that the SE Trust has now gone out for public consultation for the full closure of the Bangor GP Ward. I believe that the fate of the Bangor GP Ward was decided by the SE Trust months ago and that this was an allusion that the GP Ward was only going to close temporarily. The fact that the SE Trust can’t listen and won’t listen to the needs of the local community is just a disgrace especially when there were alternatives which I presented which were rubbished and ignored. The good news that the Minor Injury Unit was saved does not take away from the fact that a much needed facility will be lost, if the Chief Executive of the SE Trust won’t listen to the needs of the community then he should resign.
