Alex Easton MLA has today congratulated Kelly Gallagher on her magnificent achievements at winning a gold medal at the Winter Paralympic games in Sochi and calls on NDBC to award Kelly with a Civic Reception.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Kelly Gallagher and her guide Charlotte Evans to have achieved Team GBs first ever Gold medal but for someone from Bangor County Down Northern Ireland to be the first make sit that more exciting. Kelly has achieved so much with her disability and is a shining example of what can be achieved with a disability, she is not just a fantastic skier I understand she has a degree in mathematics which makes her brainy as well as fast. I would like to also pay tribute to Sport NI, the Sports Institute for NI and also Disability Sports NI for their help and support towards Kelly. I would today call on North Down Borough Council to honour Kelly with A Civic reception at the earliest possible moment.”
