Alex Easton MLA has today called for a 3G pitch for Donaghadee.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA:

“I am today calling on Ards Borough Council to look at the possibility of Donaghadee getting a 3G pitch, with the current size of the population in Donaghadee which is expanding. I now believe that the current sport pitch provision for Donaghadee is not up to scratch with the pitches at Cromwellon Park not always playable. I believe that many Councils are now investing in 3G pitches as the way forward for the future, and I believe that Donaghadee is lacking in that provision.”

“I believe that a joined up approach by the three main sports groups in Donaghadee, such as Football, Hockey and Rugby coming together could put an exciting proposal to Ards Council and by exploring funding opportunity’s in partnership with Ards Council, The Sports Council and the IFA we might be able to realize our full potential for sport for Donaghadee. I understand there is a sports strategy being explored currently by Ards Council and I would ask them to look closely at the feasibility of a 3G pitch for Donaghadee.”
